The Mads Are Back
Do you remember Mystery Science Theater 3000? Well the "Mads,"Â Trace Beaulieu and Frank "TV's Frank" Conniff have a new show they run with Dumb Industries, riffing on movies via live stream every month. I've been illustrating their promotional posters for the past year and a half. Check out some of those posters (and other projects) here!
GAMING
Test of Honour
After 20 years in the newspaper industry I officially went freelance, and my first large project was illustrating samurai for the tabletop miniatures game, Test of Honour (2nd edition) by Grey for Now Games. Every year, more illustrations are added to the game as it continues to grow. I've also done spot illustrations for Hydra Miniatures as well as several independent roleplaying game designers.
PUBLISHING
Call of Poothulhu
In 2022, Winnie-the-Pooh (not yet "The House on Pooh Corner" yet) went into public domain and the book, "The Call of Poothulhu" was one of the first to capitalize. The book is a collection of horror short stories featuring our friends from the 100-Acre Wood. I was asked to illustrate the book in the style of E.H. Shepard, and I happily jumped at the opportunity to try to emulate one of my favorite illustrators. The book is available at Amazon and on Kindle.
MYTHIC ALPHABET
A name using fantasy-inspired illuminated letters
Do you have a child, grandchild, niece or nephew, or are young at heart yourself? Then I think you'll enjoy a small print of your name or initials using my Mythic Alphabet. THE CITIZENS OF BIG ROCK
A town of proper animals
Big Rock is a fictional town created in collaboration with my wife. The town has a history, detailed geography, and a population of a few hundred animals; most of whom have been named and given a role within the town, and many of which have portraits available to you as 5x7 or 8x10 prints. Keeping in practice and having fun
When I'm not working on commissions, I always enjoy pushing the ink around, trying my hand at different techniques, adding watercolor, and sketching wildlife, people, places, and other randoms.
